Since the formation of the library's Green Team, we have accomplished a number of goals to make the library a greener, more environmentally friendly place:

• Enacted an Environmental Policy Statement
• Started changing our lighting to be more energy efficient
• Started recycling plastic cases for DVDs, CDs, etc. with Green Disk
• Staff Terracycling of toothpaste tubes and tape cores
• Started collecting receipt tape spools for reuse
• Eliminated the use of disposable cups by staff
• Replaced styrofoam cups with paper cups for public events
• Increased the number of recycling bins in the library
• Hosted a lecture on climate change
• Hosted a successful craft swap
• Staffed a table at the Earth Day fair
• Made beads using old magazines as a kids' craft
• Gave away reusable lunchbags as Reading Club prizes
