Northbrook Weekly Police Report
 

The following incidents were included in the official reports of the Northbrook Police Department for the week of June 23 through June 29. Any persons listed are assumed to be innocent until found guilty by a court of law. It is the policy of this site to not to print the names af anyone under 18 years of age or those whose age cannot be determined from the police report.

BURGLARY
On Monday a resident of the 600 block of Dunstin Circle reported that someone gained entry into her residence and removed jewelry from the master bedroom. When she arrived at home, she found the master bedroom window slightly ajar and the bathroom window located upstairs on the west side of the house slightly ajar with cuts on the bottom corners of the screen. 14 items of jewelry are missing.

On Wednesday residents of a home on the 600 block of Lee reported that they found the front door and rear door to the residence were open. As they entered the residence, they noticed multiple closets, drawers, and the crawl space door were open and in disarray. $8,000-$10,000 in cash was reported missing.

On Wednesday it was reported that someone smashed the passenger side front window of a 2003 red Audi A6 which was parked on the 3700 block of Bordeaux. All that was missing was the vehicle’s manual (inside a black plastic cover) which had the registration card inside it. A wallet that had been on the seat was not disturbed.


CONSUMPTION BY A MINOR
On Saturday an officer conducting a premise exam at the Village Hall observed two young adults riding bicycles southbound on the 1200 Block of Cedar. He spoke to them and determined that they both had been drinking alcohol. Both were issued tickets and transported home.

DUI
On Wednesday police stopped a car driven by Jose L. Florez-Guzman of 3636 University Ave. in Gurnee and determined that he was DUI. Subsequent investigation revealed that both he and his passenger, Francisco J. Barriga-Perez of the same address were in Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were both placed under arrest, processed and placed in cell pending bond.

On Thursday police stopped Jane Goldshteyn of 6831 N. Kostner in Lincolnwood and charged her with Speeding, Improper lane Usage, DUI and DUI over (BAC/.083).She was placed under arrest, transported to the police station, processed and released on bond.

On Saturday William Pullano of 2332 Iroquois Drive in Glenview was involved in an accident and subsequently charged with Failure to Yield and DUI. He was taken into custody processed and released on bond.

On Saturday a 17 year old male from Park Ridge was stopped of traffic and subsequently charged with Improper Lane Usage, DUI and DUI Over (BAC/.193). He was transported to the station, processed and released to his parent’s custody on bond.


CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Sunday a woman reported that an unknown vehicle followed her car while honking their horn and yelling out the window. When she stopped for a red light at the intersection of Waukegan Rd. and Founders Rd., the passenger of the vehicle next to her reached out of the passenger side window and struck her driver side window shattering it. Due to the weather conditions at the time of occurrence, victim was unable to get a description of the vehicle or occupants.

THEFT
On Sunday a woman reported that she saw a white Ford pickup truck at the rear of the Dominick’s on Dundee leave the area south bound Sanders with two floral storage stands in the rear bin of the truck.

On Wednesday a woman shopping at the Garden Fresh on the 200 block of Skokie reported that she had her purse located in the shopping cart she discovered her wallet missing. She had approximately $160 and credit cards inside her black wallet.

On Saturday Tracy A. Collins of 4920 W. Concord Place in Chicago left the Macy’s on Lake Cook without paying for various clothing items totaling $339.00. Collins was taken into custody, processed and released on bond.

On Saturday Ismael Ruiz Mendez of 263 Skokie was observed attempting to leave the Loehmann’s on Skokie without paying for two bottles of cologne with a retail value of $84.98. He was issued a ticket and informed that he is no longer welcome at Loehmann’s and future visits would bring trespass charges.


VANDALISM
On Tuesday an officer conducting a premise exam on the 3100 block of Pheasant Creek observed that the area had been defaced by graffiti.

YOUTH PROBLEM
On Friday police responded to the area of Wood Oaks Park, on a complaint that a group of male youths was surrounding a hysterical female youth. Police stopped two cars that had exited from the area which contained several male youths. Te occupants all confirmed there was a fight planned and rumored but they did not witness a fight actually occur.
