Chabad of Northbrook's Community Hebrew School (CHS) 2012/13 registration is in full swing. The program offers an affordable educational experience where your child will enjoy acquiring a solid foundation in Jewish education in a positive atmosphere. Membership is not required to join CHS. Come by the Velodrome on May 18th and 19th to find a huge assortment of perennials directly from members' gardens including a large selection of Native Woodland plants as well as helpful advice. The proceeds support local programs for the community. The Chalet is located just west of Waukegan Rd. next to Meadowhill Park's Velodrome.

Are you looking for a fun outing with your kids? The ParkDistrict returns to Wood Oaks Green Park on Saturday, May 19 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with the Annual Kids' Fishing Derby. This is a free family event. Fishing rods will be provided.

Monday, April 30, 7 p.m. at Northbrook Public Library. Professor Kyu Park from Northeastern Illinois University will lead a panel discussion on the role of Korean Women. Presenters will provide a perspective of what Korean American women should do over the next 50 years to consolidate the achievements already made and to further build upon them. The Lew Blond Run is a 5K Run/Walk held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 that takes place at Maple School. Volunteer and sponsors are needed to suport this uplifting event. Call Chris Brown at 847-400-8900. Proceeds benefit research through the ALS Foundation and scholarships to those students pursuing careers in education from Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South High Schools.

The 11th annual Krolak Cup is coming to the Northbrook Sports Center from April 16-22 for an international hockey and friendship tournament. These exciting games are open to everyone. Teams of junior high school players from Sweden will compete against players from Northbrook and the surrounding area as part of a cross-cultural exchange. For more information, call 847-291-2993.

Come to the Village Green Park at 8:30 a.m. to sign up, receive supplies and join a team of Northbrook Community Volunteers in a community cleanup project on April 21 in honor of Earth Day. For more information, call 847-291-2995.

Northbrook Youth Bands - Don't miss your opportunity to apply to be part of Rock the Green, Battle of the Bands on Friday, June 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the Village Green Park.
