  • Teen Advisory Board Meeting (grades 6-12)

    Interested in being a part of the TAB? We plan Teen programming, decorate the Loft, generate content for the website and help out with events while eating pizza and earning service hours! We meet in the Activity Room on the second Tuesday of nearly every month for an hour. Attendance at every meeting is not required, but we do hope you come to as many as you can!

    Our rare jazz performances on film series will feature the Harry James Big Band from 1942 in 5 songs including “Trumpet Concerto”, Charlie Barnet’s Orchestra from 1944 in 4 songs including “Skyliner”, plus soundies featuring the Les Brown Orchestra. One-of-a-kind performances of historic importance.

    In 2014 it was announced that a negative of this film had been discovered in France and would be restored for the world to see after being considered lost for nearly 100 years. It is our privilege to present the Chicago area premier of this film which was shot in Chicago at Essanay studios. Stage actor William Gillette brings for the first time the beloved character of Sherlock Holmes to the screen with (at the time of filming) full permission from Arthur Conan Doyle.
