    Did you know the Inuit have a 1,000-year-old way of making ice cream using seal blubber instead of cream?  We are going to try this recipe using a modern replacement for seal blubber.  We will also examine Inuit artifacts from the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian, and learn how to make an igloo.

    Beginners’ Chess
    Curious about chess, or are you a brand new chess player?  Learn how to play chess and meet other players during this 3-workshop series presented by CheckMates Chess Academy.  Beginning students will learn how to play the game of chess, complete with all official tournament rules.

    This winter concert series will brighten the cold winter days with classical performances every Sunday in February in the Multimedia Department on the 3rd floor. The location not only provides listeners with a more relaxed concert setting, but a spectacular winter view as well.

    Chess Strategies
    Already know how to play chess? Want to refine your skills? Students who already know how to play chess will learn new strategies, new alternative chess games, and new chess techniques! This 3-week session is sure to reinvigorate your child's love of learning and chess. Players for the strategies class must already know how to play.
