    Brandon and Philip (John Dall & Farley Granger) are two young men who share a New York apartment. They consider themselves intellectually superior to their friend David Kentley (Dick Hogan) and as a consequence decide to murder him. Together they strangle David with a rope and placing the body in an old chest, they proceed to hold a small party. The guests include David's father, his fiancée Janet and their old schoolteacher Rupert (James Stewart) from whom they mistakenly took their ideas. As Brandon becomes increasingly more daring, Rupert begins to suspect. This film is notable for being shot in 10 uninterrupted takes with no editing. Hitchcock’s first color film.     Following the conviction of her German father for treason against the U.S., Alicia Huberman (Ingrid Bergman) takes to drink and men. She is approached by a government agent, T.R. Devlin (Cary Grant) who asks her to spy on a group of her father's Nazi friends operating out of Rio de Janeiro. A romance develops between Alicia and Devlin, but she starts to get too involved in her work. This film was Oscar nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Claude Rains and Best Original Screenplay, Ben Hecht. PRESENTED IN 35MM. 1946, 101 minutes.

    Independent film maker Reid Schultz will discuss the entire Alfred Hitchcock film series after both screenings of Notorious. Film discussion is sponsored by the Friends.
