Child Identification Cards
As adults we often times take for granted the necessity of having identification with us when we are out. Children seldom carry identification but are in just as much need of having an identifying document on their person. Law enforcement officers frequently come across children who are lost or have been in an accident and need to be identified so parents can be notified. The Northbrook Police Department offers a Child Identification Card program that addresses this need. The police department can supply your child with a photo identification card that can be carried in their backpack or jacket so if the need arises police or fire personnel can quickly identify the child and contact a parent. ID cards can be obtained by attending special events or by contacting the Community Relations Unit at 847-564-2060, ext. 2129.
