Library Announces Lineup for Live TEDx Event

Four Northbrook residents will take the stage at the Northbrook Public Library’s live TEDx event on Saturday, May 20 and present their own original TEDx Talks to the community.
 
• Steve DeLuca (pictured far right)
DeLuca is a full-time firefighter for the Northbrook Fire Department and a cancer survivor. DeLuca has completed 24 marathons, including 15 consecutive Chicago Marathons. He has been interviewed about his experience battling cancer on CNN, WLS, WGN, and other venues.
 
• Courtney Fong (pictured far left)
Fong is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Castle Creek Arbitrage LLC, as well as an Adjunct Professor of Law at IIT Chicago-Kent Colege of Law. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and serves on the Board of Directors of the NAPABA Law Foundation. 
 
• Stephen Packard (pictured center right)
Packard has worked with the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission, the Illinois Nature Conservancy, and the Audubon Chicago Region throughout his extensive experience in prairie and oak woodland restoration. He has taught conservation policy and ecology at Northwestern University and has helped organize many initiatives to preserve local wilderness.
 
• Lauren Schifferdecker (pictured center left)
A Northbrook native, Schifferdecker is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and works as licensed clinical professional counselor. She is also the founder and clinical director of the Inspire Counseling Center. 
 
As of March 1, registration for the live TEDx event is open for valid Northbrook Library cardholders. Registration will open for everyone on April 1. Learn more about the live TEDxNorthbrookLibrary event and register here.
