  • Global Adventure Badge

    New at the library! Youth Services is unveiling an independent learning program for children in grades 4th thru 8th who are interested in geography and world cultures. Participants can earn a Globe Badge by exploring the world through books, music, movies, knowledge, and service. Become a global citizen!   • Wiggleworms Music for Kids (Ages 2-5 with Adult)

    Join a Wiggleworms instructor from the Old Town School of Folk Music for a half hour of music, movement and fun. For kids 5 and under with a caregiver.

  • K-9 Reading Buddies (Grades 1-5)

    Youth Services Activity Room

    K-9 Reading Buddies is a non-profit, volunteer, animal assisted children’s literacy program. Children will teamed up with their Reading Team, consisting of a therapy dog and handler- thus providing an environment that’s safe, non-judgmental and motivates children.
    Space is limited. Child + Book + Dog = Great Reading Experience

  • Early Literacy Lab
    Tuesday, March 10, 2015 - 10:30am
    Youth Services Activity Room

    Get your hands, ears, and eyes exploring the science of early literacy through hands-on activity stations. Activities are designed for an adult and a child to have fun doing together.     A reception for young artists who participated in the NSYMCA Annual Art Show. Their work will be on display throughout the Library for the month of March.

    Come with an adult lab partner to learn basic science and math concepts through hands-on activities, stories, and music.

    Child must attend with an adult. Register only the child.
  • Buddy Book Club - When the Wolves Returned by Dorothy H. Patent (Grades 3-5)
