If you are a Northbrook resident, you can get information
on your account and place holds by logging in using your library
card barcode number and your password. Unless you have changed
your password, the default is patron.
Note: If the
item you want shows as ON SHELF, call the library at 847-272-6224
and ask that it be held for you. If you place a hold online on an
item that is on the shelf, the hold will not be processed until
the next weekday morning.
If an item you want is checked out, you can place
a hold on it online. On the right side of the screen
showing the item there is a box with a picture of a hand that says
hold. Click on the hand and then fill out your
barcode and password in the next screen. You will be notified when
the item becomes available.
If you wish this notice to be sent by email, then
from the iBistro opening screen click on "My Account", then click
on "Update My Email Address". You will be asked for your barcode
and password (as above.) Fill in your email address (twice, for
verification) then click on the "Submit" button.
The catalog is unavailable Saturday nights from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. because of database maintenance. At times when the catalog is unavailable, you can try searching the Statewide Illinois Library Catalog, but this will not show recently purchased items, nor show if the item is available.
