Ready, Set, Read! Young Adult Summer Reading Club 2008
(Young Adults going into Grades 6-12)
Sign up starts Monday, June 2 for our special young adult reading club. Earn prizes as you read – one prize for each of five visits to the library, with at least one book read or two hours spent reading per visit. Club participants who finish the club, making all five library visits, earn a free paperback book to be picked up in August. Monday, June 2 – Thursday, July 31.
Ready, Set, Contests! (Open to Young Adults going into Grades 6-12)
Stop by the Young Adult area and check out the rotating contests designed especially for teens. Lots of fun prizes. Monday, June 2 - Thursday, July 31.
Summer Volunteers – Organizational Meetings
(Young Adults going into Grades 7-12)
Interested in helping this summer at the library? Then join us as a volunteer. During our mandatory informational meetings we’ll give you full details about our very flexible hours and work dates. Volunteers earn a Bookbin gift certificate, and an honorary pizza party. Call 847-272-4240 starting Thursday, May 1 to let us know what meeting you’ll be attending:
Tuesday, May 20, 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.; or Saturday, May 24, 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
TAB (aka the Teen Advisory Board) Summer Decorating Meeting (Grades 6-12)
Have fun decorating the Young Adult area for summer. Pizza and pop served. Amazing end of the year raffle! Sign up starting Thursday, May 1. Tuesday, May 27, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Youth Services Program Room
Eclipse Book Discussion at Starbucks in the Glen (Grades 7-12)
Join in an ongoing discussion of the popular Twilight series. We’ll tackle Eclipse while enjoying complimentary drinks and goodies.(Thanks to Starbucks in the Glen for their generous support!) Sign up starts Monday, May 19. Cosponsored with the Glenview Public Library.

Teens Top Ten Winners
More than 6000 teens across the country chose New Moon by Stephanie Meyer as their favorite book in the annual Teens’ Top Ten contest. (And it's our choice for a February book discussion - see above.) The online vote took place during Teen Read Week, October 14 – October 20, 2007.
