    This two-session defensive driving course sponsored by AARP will help make you a better and safer driver. You may be eligible for a discount on the liability portion of your car insurance.

    The mandatory second session is Saturday, October 3 from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

    An aspiring writer leaves his village to attend university in the Ugandan capital, where he is drawn into insurgency by a charismatic friend but later emigrates to the Midwestern United States and falls in love with his social worker.

  • Evening with an Author: Robert Kurson

    Meet some of today's most talented writers at the library's new series, an Evening with an Author. At each event, authors will read a selection of their work, answer questions, and sign copies of their books. Books will be available to purchase courtesy of the Book Bin.

    Northbrook native Robert Kurson is best known for his 2004 bestselling book, "Shadow Divers," which won the Book Sense Book of the Year Award for Adult Nonfiction. Kurson's latest book,"Pirate Hunters," was released in June of this year. His award-winning stories have also appeared in "Rolling Stone," "The New York Times Magazine" and other publications.
