Rock Music Month returns! From August 17-31, we'll explore Chicago garage band and indie rock culture of the 1960s to today. Join us for amazing performances, speakers, family shows, trivia, and more!

Family Rock Show with Future Hits (All Ages)

Join these educators-turned-rockers for an exciting show of rockin' music and educational fun! Future Hits has been likened to Yo La Tengo and Velvet Underground (if those bands played for children), and have performed in classrooms in Chicago, San Francisco, New York, and even the Galapagos Islands.

Jimy Sohns and Shadows of Knight

Dubbed “the American Rolling Stones,” the Shadows of Knight shot to the top of the music charts in 1966. The band formed in 1964 and had four Billboard hits, including their rock anthem "GLORIA." Cosponsored by the Friends of the Library.
