This movie features Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, both of whom were in the recent Broadway revival of Fences, which won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play about Troy Maxson, written by August Wilson, who also wrote the screenplay.

Troy Maxson, a garbage collector in 1950s Pittsburgh, comes to terms with his past and present, letting his regrets outweigh his happiness.
