Speaker Craig Bergmann is an award-winning landscape architect and editor of the book Midwestern Landscaping, a comprehensive and practical guide to gardening in our region. He will help attendees learn how to create beautiful landscapes that are suited for our changing environment.

Did you know that a colony of bats can eat a pound of insects a night? Learn how bats are crucial to our ecosystem and what is being done to protect them. Tara Hohoff is a Univ. of Illinois mammalogist with the Illinois Bat Conservation Program and conducts bat surveys in the Chicago area with the Illinois Tollway's assessment program.

Experience nature with all five senses as we walk slowly through Ryerson Woods. Terry Cichocki, certified forest therapy guide and Northbrook Village Forester, will be our guide to immersing ourselves in the nourishing sounds, smells, and textures of the woods.
