Today I had the pleasure of meeting some of the members of the Northbrook Senior Center's Knitting and Crocheting group, who produced a large number of beautifully handmade hats and scarves for Senator Julie Morrison's Pajama Drive. The Pajama Drive will provide warm clothing to area youth in foster care, and the library is a collection spot for donations of new pajamas, socks, hats, and mittens in all sizes through November 15 ...

The Northbrook Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a candidate to fill a temporary vacancy on the Library Board. The Board is committed to maintaining a diverse Board that reflects the Northbrook community. The selected candidate will serve until the next regular election in May 2023. Each year, we screen approximately 60 films in the library's Auditorium. Some of the most highly anticipated—and widely attended—screenings take place during our annual Critics’ Choice series, which features Oscar-nominated films. But securing the licensing for these films can be challenging, says librarian Margo Hill, who works with movie studios and distributors to acquire the rights to show the films.
While serving as advocates for the library in the community, the library relies on its trustees to be in charge of the fiscal oversight and budget. They also set the policies and provide strategic direction to help the library move forward.
