Furniture Bid for RFID and Lobby Renovations

Northbrook Public Library received sealed bids/proposals from Furniture Dealers for Interior Improvements until 3:00 P.M. local time on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane, Northbrook, IL 60062. The Library is closed to visitors, but bids were turned in at the Delivery Door on the north side of the building M-F 9am-5pm.  Sealed envelopes or packages containing bids shall be addressed to the Executive Director and plainly marked “Sealed Bid” and list the Bid Package name on the outside of the envelope. Bids were opened and read aloud at 4:30 P.M. local time on Monday, November 23, 2020 via Zoom.

Sealed lump sum bids for the Bid Packages ONLY will be accepted.

The contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  The Library will consider all factors which it, in its sole discretion, deems to be in the best interest of the Library.  While price is important, past similar experience and ability to timely deliver the project on budget are also important considerations.

The Library Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make an award that in the Board’s opinion is in the best interest of the Library.

All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages for any furniture requiring assembly by all Installers working on public works.  If furniture does not require assembly, prevailing wage is not required. Bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, Substance Abuse Prevention, Drug Free Workplace and any applicable superseding ordinance or public law.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cash in an amount equal to 10 percent of the total bid amount shall be submitted with the bid.  Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Northbrook Public Library. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond will be returned upon request only.  Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check will be returned after award of contract.
