Signup information for Summer Reading

Get ready to "Level Up" for our next Summer Reading Challenge: June 1 - August 10

This year, we encourage you to try new things, boost your creativity, and explore whatever inspires you, whether it's reading, learning a language, crafting, sports, video games, music, science, or something else entirely. And the best place to start is the library!

Our Summer Reading Challenge is open to everyone, from newborns to adults. Visit the library to sign up and pick up a reading log, or participate online using the Beanstack website or app. 

How to sign up for our Summer Reading Challenge

Starting on Sunday, June 1, you can:

Play our Crack the Code Challenge from June 1-8 πŸ”Ž

To kick off our Summer Reading Challenge, we invite you to search for clues to decipher a mystery phrase for a chance to win a prize. 

  • Visit the library from June 1-8 to pick up a Crack the Code form
  • Search for hidden cards near our service desks
  • Use our code breaker to spell out a mystery phrase
  • Complete and submit your form to be entered into our prize drawing

🌞 Adult Summer Reading Challenge  (Ages 18 & Up)

Log your reading to be entered into our weekly gift card drawing. When you log four or more books, you'll earn a bucket hat (perfect for sunny days) and a coupon for a free book from the Friends’ Bookshop. You will also be entered into a Grand Prize drawing for a $200 Sunset Foods gift card.  If you'd like some reading suggestions, ask us or browse our reading lists.

🌞 Teen Summer Reading Challenge (Grades 6-12)

Log your reading to earn coupons and prizes. You can also complete our optional reading and bonus activities for additional prizes and drawing tickets for our Grand Prize Drawing.

🌞 Youth Summer Reading Challenge (3 years - Grade 5)

You're encouraged to try to read for 30 minutes each day. At 5, 10, and 15 days of reading, you will earn a prize (like a coupon to a local business) and a drawing ticket (for a chance to win other prizes, including a bike). When you have logged 20 days of reading, you'll earn a book. Participants can also complete additional bonus activities to win a special prize.

🌞 Baby Summer Reading Challenge (Birth - 3 years)

Caregivers can sign up and complete fun literacy activities with babies this summer. After logging 20 activities (like scribbling/drawing, playing pretend, and singing with your child), you will earn a free egg shaker, and after completing 20 activities, you will earn a free book and a drawing ticket.
