Our Summer Reading Challenge Returns June 1 - August 9
Get ready to grow your reading skills and nourish your imagination!
The goal of our Summer Reading Challenge is to encourage a lifelong love of reading, so we have fun activities and incentives planned throughout the summer. To make it easier to log your reading, you can sign up and log your reading at the library or participate online.
Summer Reading Kick-Off Week Fun (June 1-7)
Drop by the lobby during the first week of Summer Reading for fun activities, including a seed packet giveaway, an estimation jar challenge, and a chance to win free tickets to a special Northbrook Symphony concert for kids!
🌱 Adult Summer Reading Challenge (June 1 - August 9)
Adult participants who log their reading will be automatically entered into our weekly gift card drawing. After logging four or more books, they will earn a ceramic planter and a coupon for a free book from the Friends’ Bookshop, and they will also be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a Chicago Botanic Garden household membership!
🌱 Youth & Teen Summer Reading Challenge (June 1 - August 9)
Kids and teens can earn awesome coupons and prizes for logging their reading, like a free book, and a chance to win our Grand Prize drawing. They can also complete bonus reading and activities to earn a planter kit and extra drawing tickets. Grand prizes include a 24" bike from George Garner Cyclery, White Sox tickets, a Nintendo Switch, and more!
🌱 Baby Summer Reading Challenge (June 1 - August 9)
Get your little ones excited about learning by completing fun literacy activities together, like reading or singing, to complete the challenge. Once finished, your little reader will receive a special prize and a free book. And you’ll also be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing for a chance to win a Radio Flyer 4-in-1 Stroll 'N Trike!
