September 29: Victor Asuncion, Piano
Hailed by the Washington Post for his “poised and imaginative playing,” pianist Victor Asuncion is joined by violinist Diomedes Saraza Jr., a graduate of Julliard and Yale. 

October 13: Madison Carroll, Clarinet
Enjoy a selection of chamber music for the clarinet performed by Madison Carroll, our Classical Music Librarian. Madison is a graduate of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

October 20: Roberta Miles, Vocals
Vocalist Roberta Miles makes her debut at the Northbrook Public Library performing jazz works. She’s performed at the Palmer House, Orchestra Hall, and the Chicago Cultural Center.

October 27: Zafa Collective
The Zafa Collective, a new music group that focuses on pieces by underrepresented composers, performs a concert of music for flute and marimba.

November 3: Susan Merdinger, Piano
Distinguished Steinway Artist Susan Merdinger,   will present a concert of solo piano music.

November 10: Christopher Laughlin, Guitar
Christropher Laughlin is a Northbrook resident, guitarist, and director of the Christopher Laughlin School of Music. His program will feature the guitar in the context of chamber music. He is a graduate of Yale University and the Peabody Conservatory, a past Fulbright Scholar, and has performed around the world.

November 17: The Mischlinge Expose, Piano & Visual Media
Pianist Carolyn Enger will present a multi-media program containing music of German-Jewish composers, video, and audio to engage the audience with her family's experience with Judaism from the Holocaust to the present day.

November 24: EStrella Duo, Piano Duet
The EStrella Piano Duo burst on the musical scene in 2011 with a series of concerts celebrating the great Russian masterpieces for piano duet. Elena Doubovitskaya and Svetlana Belsky share both their Russian heritage and training and their enthusiasm for playing together.

The complete Lyric Opera Season will be presented in preview lectures held before the opening night of each opera. Lectures will present story insights and composer information along with recorded performance highlights.
