Check out all of our environmental programs and events at the library this March and April.

Each year, we screen approximately 60 films in the library's Auditorium. Some of the most highly anticipated—and widely attended—screenings take place during our annual Critics’ Choice series, which features Oscar-nominated films. But securing the licensing for these films can be challenging, says librarian Margo Hill, who works with movie studios and distributors to acquire the rights to show the films.

Galit Gottlieb's “culinary mystery” Battered: A Whipped and Sipped Mystery is part of the library's Local Collection, a space on the second floor next to the Reference desk. Created by local writers and artists, the materials in this collection include novels, nonfiction, short stories, music, scores, and films for patrons to browse and check out.

Give new life to craft supplies you no longer need—yarn, fabrics, scrapbooking paper, etc. Drop off your new or slightly used craft supplies during the drop-off times below, and then join us at the Craft Swap on Sunday, February 2. Please note: you do not need to donate any materials to attend the swap.

After the votes were tallied, the film Imagination (Ukraine) was awarded the coveted "Best of the Fest" at the International Children's Film Festival held at the Northbrook Public Library on Saturday, October 26. This innovative film, directed by Catheryne Chepik, blended live action and animation, taking the viewer on an adventure through the offbeat worlds of a creative young girl.
