Manage your account online where you can login to renew items, check due dates, place holds, pay fines, and more.

Lost or Stolen Cards

If your card is lost or stolen, call immediately. The cardholder is responsible for any items checked out to the account until we are notified.

Updating Your Address

Update your address at the Circulation Desk by providing a current photo ID, proof of address, and property tax bill if you live in an Unincorporated Area. You can update your email address and/or phone number online, or by calling the Circulation Department and verifying a few pieces of information.

Accessing a Digital Library Card

You can access a digital version of your card by installing the Northbrook Public Library app, available for Apple and Android devices.

Renewing Your Card

When your library card expires, renew in person at the Circulation Desk. Bring your library card, current photo ID, proof of address (if not listed on ID), and a current property tax bill if you live in an Unincorporated Area.

Card Types that expire after 3 years

  • Incorporated Northbrook Cards (Adults and Children)
  • Senior Facilities/Nursing Homes

Card Types that expire after 1 year:

  • Unincorporated Northbrook Cards
  • Business Cards
  • Au Pair Cards
  • Teacher Cards

Other Card Types

  • Reciprocal Patron: Home Library’s expiration date or 3 years if not provided
  • Chicago Public Library: Chicago Public Library’s expiration date
